After their outdoor maternity session in Abersham Park a few months ago, I loved catching up with the Thompsons for their studio newborn session for baby Henry. I’ve been photographing this sweet family since before the birth of their first little boy, Caleb. Being a North Carolina newborn photographer is already special, so seeing these beloved families flourish and grow is even more precious. 

Belly to Baby

This session was the second of four we’ll plan together during Henry’s first year. The Thompsons are Belly to Baby members, so I’ll see them again for his sitter session and then his first birthday! Opting for this membership, instead of one-off sessions, is a beautiful way to document the magic of your little one’s first year. I’ll hold your hand through the entire season while we document those extra special milestones. Everything from wardrobe to hair and makeup is planned for you to ensure your experience is one you enjoy from start to finish!

Henry’s Studio Newborn Session

The Thompsons met me at the studio for Henry’s newborn session. Mom had her hair and makeup done while I started with portraits of baby Henry in his personalized swaddle. Next, we made sure to photograph Dad with his boys. Moms often get a lot of the spotlight and celebration during this season (as they should), but I love making sure dad feels loved and appreciated too!

Big brother Caleb was so gentle with his new baby brother and is settling right into his new role. After full family portraits, Dad and Caleb made their way home so Mom and Henry could finish up. Structuring our sessions this way ensures older siblings can be part of the experience without the downtime to feel restless. Including them is such an easy way to make them feel special! 

Darling Henry, you were such a dream to photograph. I can’t wait to see you so soon!
