Smash cakes, tutus, and pigtails..oh my! It has been such a delight following baby Mia’s journey from the time she was growing in her Mom’s belly. Documenting your family grow and your baby’s first year is one of my greatest joys of being a Huntersville baby photographer!

In last week’s post, I mentioned the Belly to Baby Membership. From maternity, newborn, sitting, to first birthday, Mia is the perfect model of what this looks like! This session is the final in a series of four for this sweet family.

As parents, our baby’s first birthday is a time to reflect, and as a photographer, I tend to do the same! Mia’s mom opted for an outdoor maternity session on a chilly evening and Mia’s newborn session took place in my studio last year. She was so sweet and snuggly and slept through her entire session. Her dad even wore his Air Force uniform as a special nod to his military service.  

It’s hard to believe a full year has passed since that day, but here we are and I could not be more excited to celebrate Mia! 

Bring on the sweets

Mia’s first birthday session was just as sweet! She wore a pink tutu for most of her session, the perfect accessory for any growing little love. Mia also wore the most beautiful little white dress for some family photos. For those photos, Mom put her hair in pigtails, which matched her personality perfectly. 

Towards the end of the session, it was time for the cake smash! I never know what to expect- some babies will love it and some not so much, but I think Mia loved it! She took her time trying it out and I think her smile says it all! 

Mia, you are such a darling. I can’t wait to continue watching you grow over the next few years!
