Maternity Session at Fisher Farm Park | Davidson Maternity Photographer

Planning any type of photoshoot, especially a maternity session, can feel really overwhelming. It’s why I have created a client experience that allows me to hold your hand through the entire process, start to finish. I want you to arrive for your session feeling excited and relaxed, so that you can be present for this important moment rather than worried about the little details. Here are three key things to consider when planning for your session and how they came together for this beautiful maternity session at Fisher Farm Park.

Location

Sometimes sessions take me out of the studio, and when they do I always love the outcome. As a Davidson maternity photographer, I love having so many beautiful location options in the area. Fisher Farm Park was the perfect backdrop for this session and I loved the airy romantic feel of the environment. We were able to get a lot of variety and could not have asked for a more gorgeous evening!

Wardrobe

Planning what to wear can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. I’m so thrilled wardrobe appointments are now offered with every session. It’s a great option even if you want to incorporate some of your own pieces. Patrice and I met at the studio to pick out the perfect dress to wear for her maternity session. She chose a beautiful, white flowing maxi dress with lots of layers. The off the shoulder neckline was so romantic and was a great fit for our location. She also brought a gorgeous yellow dress, the perfect neutral for Fall.

Scheduling + Timing

There are a few things to consider when scheduling your session and picking a start time. Light is so important for outdoor sessions. In order to get that creamy, golden hour light, we will start one hour before sunset.

Depending on the time of the year, it’s also important to think about a backup plan, in the event of bad weather. Because maternity sessions are more time-sensitive, we may reschedule or move to the studio.

Keep scrolling to see how we brought all three elements together for this dreamy sunset maternity session! This mama-to-be was glowing and it was such an honor to their maternity session as they await the arrival of their first baby!
