I have been thinking a lot lately about where I want to take my photography business. I want to offer my clients a simple and natural beautiful images that will last a lifetime. I have been following Christy with Be True Baby so when she offered up a 2 day workshop a few weeks back focusing on an organic approach to newborn and baby photography and I knew I had to go. I loved every minute of it. She had arranged for beautiful models so we could all expand on our shooting skills both in studio and outdoors. I am a very visual learner so seeing her in action was priceless to me. She was very patient and generous with all of us and shared how to take advantage of the best light, how to position mom and baby, how to position yourself. She really took the time to make sure we all had a turn and offered suggestions. We dove into the business side of things with included both marketing and pricing. It was very inspirational and packed with information that we can all use and implement in our own business. I knew before that I wanted my clients to have tangible products to display in their homes and after seeing Christy’s way of making sure every single one walks out with something in their bag was huge. I have already made small changes to my collections to make sure everyone gets some artwork. Because after all, what are you going to do with the USB in the drawer full of precious priceless art of your belly, your baby, your family? Prints matter. Enjoy them, hang them on the wall, put them in an album to pass down to your children.

Spending time with Christy and the other participants was a true privilege and Christy made us all feel very at home in her gorgeous studio. I walked away feeling renewed and inspired. I have a fresh perspective of what I want to do with my business and how I want my clients to feel both before and after their session. I am excited to see where this will take me.
