If you’re new to following or just landed on the blog, you may not know that I am from Sweden! Not only do I love being able to weave part of my Swedish heritage into my everyday life, it’s also woven into my business. It naturally flows over into my client experience as a Charlotte NC Newborn Photographer. When life and work are able to balance in such a unique way it makes this job the most joyful and fulfilling.
What’s even more special is when I get to serve another family within the Swedish community here in the Charlotte area! In fact, that’s how Ashley and her husband found me. This was my second newborn session for Ashley, this time in my studio in Denver.
Evelyn’s Studio Newborn Session
Baby Evelyn was the sweetest. She stayed awake for the first half of her newborn session and we were able to document a super sweet moment of her looking at Mom. She loved being swaddled and folding her hands up by her face. The photo of her little stretch at the end is one of my favorite photos from the day.
We pulled from the client wardrobe for mom and baby. For Ashley we chose a long, beautiful floral print dress with just the right amount of color. Then for Evelyn we kept things cozy with two of the softest white, textured swaddling blankets.
The subtle use of texture and minimal colors is one way I infuse the Swedish aesthetic into my work.
It keeps things simple but functional and lets the moment speak for itself. It’s the perfect example of Lagom- when something is not too much, not too little, but just the right amount.
